website rumors

January 2nd, 2006

There are rumors floating about saying Imaj Designs was contracted to make a website for the movie. This seems to be based solely on the WHOIS data for the domains he-manmovie.com and he-man-movie.com.

It would seem far more likely that they bought the domains to try to make money with, as they were both registered 1 day after the original announcement of the movie.

it would appear fox has been planning this movie for some time:

Domain Name: HEMANMOVIE.COM
Registrar: EMARKMONITOR INC. DBA MARKMONITOR
Whois Server: whois.markmonitor.com
Referral URL: http://www.markmonitor.com
Name Server: NS1.FOXINC.COM
Name Server: NS2.FOXINC.COM
Status: ACTIVE
Updated Date: 01-jul-2005
Creation Date: 03-jul-2003

while the domain exists, there don’t appear to be any dns records (A, MX, or even SOA).

He-Man cast?

December 21st, 2005

This older article of news week says that He-Man has been cast

‘He-Man.’ The scoop: Babe Jason Lewis (“Sex and the City”) has the golden locks. Will he get the title role? Chatter bug: Director John Woo should top the campy 1987 flick with Dolph Lundgren.

UK IMDb does list Terence Chang as producer, and Rodney Ferrell as executive producer. Chang has worked on many projects with Woo, but this appears to be one of Ferrell’s first projects.

I just found out!

December 21st, 2005

So, while amidst a discussion with someone from Finland trying to understand some translation of a phrase about swords, I threw out the quote “by the powers of grayskull, i have the power!!”
Would you believe he thought it was Gandalf? So, a quick search on imdb to link him to the tv series brought me to this:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427340/
Directed by John Woo, who you may know as the director of many films (Broken Arrow, Face/Off, Mission: Impossible II, Windtalkers, etc), and producer of others (Replacement Killers, Bulletproof Monk), and written by Adam Rifkin, the film is largely uncast as of yet. Looking through Rifkin’s repertoire, the only thing I recognize is Denial (mostly because of the nude scene with Hudson Leick, of Xena fame), and The Chase (staring Charlie Sheen and Kristy Swanson). It also seems he was actor in a handful of T&A flicks.
The only cast member so far is John Glover, who is cast as Skeletor. Glover has been in many films and tv shows you may recognize.
I will certainly be keeping my eyes and ears open in hopes of finding new information.
